Here's my first funny/ semi-embarrassing moment of the day. Who knew it would come so quickly?
Today is a work around the house day. This involves me staying in pajamas most of the day with a favorite hoody. Current project is getting the dishes washed. Current outfit and appearance (as stated above, but with more detail): hot pink sweatpants/ pajama bottoms, beige and brown hoody, and daisy covered, bright pink dishwashing gloves; my hair looks like I just rolled out of bed and my feet are bare. It's a good day! Since I live in the country, it' easy to have a day where no one will see my *outfit, except for my hubby. Or so I thought.
In the midst of doing dishes, I walked outside to dump some leftover coffee in the grass. (You may wonder at this point why I didn't dump it down the sink. The reason: One sink, one drain, and I don't like extra liquids in my clean dish water) Upon turning around, I noticed there was an elderly man holding something that looked like a doll house, looking down at me from the top of our patio stairs. Surprised to see him standing there, and becoming immediately aware of my current outfit, I said hello with an awkward smile.
He began chatting, paying no attention to my outfit or the empty cup of coffee in my hand. He told me that he was going to be working on the property adjacent to my own, just in case I wondered what the banging was, and showed me house he was holding. It was made from the wood he had gathered from the property and he had fashioned it into the exact replica of an old, abandoned house. After he chatted for a couple minutes about what he was doing and making, he left (he never did tell me his name). Somewhat baffled by the quick, surprise meeting, I returned to my post at the sink. Hmmm, maybe I should reconsider my outfits while living in the country??? Naaaaaa.
*Okay, so I am outfit conscience. It's a girly-girl thing ;)
