Okay, it's official, I'm starting a new composition. I'm basing this song on a short melody Joel composed a few years ago. I'm excited to see where it goes! Composing hasn't been a "quick" process for me when it comes to piano songs. My goal is to push the limits of what I know and the sounds I generally use. The next couple months will involve playing the same few measures repeatedly (it's a good time for Joel to be in the field!!) until it's just right, trying new things, getting frustrated, excitement over a new chord combination, and then Eureka! It'll be complete.
I'm announcing the beginning of this composition on the blog because it's so easy for me to get sidetracked with day-to-day life that I stop working on it.
This is my written commitment: I'm gonna do it!
